Not sure how to decorate small paintings? Here are 4 tips!

I have often heard in my community that most people prefer larger paintings. This is probably because they are easier to integrate into the interior and have a greater impact on your space. Small paintings often appear lost and do not stand out in the overall picture. But should that stop you from buying small paintings? NO!

Because there are a few easy-to-implement tricks to change that. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Small paintings look great on a shelf containing your own decorations or pictures. The painting integrates into the decoration and gives the shelf an additional boost.
  • Have you ever thought about hanging a small painting in a picture gallery or collage together with other paintings or photos ? For example, in a hanging arrangement organized by theme, color or size? There are many different hanging options that can be used to showcase the painting.
  • In addition, narrow spaces are also suitable for small paintings. For example between windows and doors, on pillars or above the fireplace. You can experiment to see if the painting looks better horizontally or vertically (if the painting allows it).
  • Small paintings also look nice in a corner or niche, and these spaces can be put to good use! For example, one idea could be to place the painting on a small stool or box to highlight it and present a beautifully decorated corner.

To avoid small paintings looking lost on the wall, they probably shouldn't be hung on high, exposed walls. These are better suited for larger paintings or decorative items. However, when placed in the right place, small paintings can enhance your interior just as much as larger paintings.
